A fun filled week

Wow!

May Half Term was so much fun. We couldn’t have wished for better weather- with it topping 31 degrees here at Yeatheridge! We welcomed many familiar faces and quite a  few new families over the week and it was great to see everyone get involved in what we had going on. From Pony grooming, animal handling sessions to crafternoons and bug hunting there was something for everyone to get involved in.

My personal favourite was the Bug hotel making. I was greeted by quite a few children at reception and we gathered our baskets, popped on our name stickers and trundled down to the shade of the woods to gather sticks, moss, small logs, bark and anything else we though might be useful! Two large baskets were filled and we made the climb back up to the patio and sheltered under the big oak tree and began to create. This is where the real magic  happened! They didn’t need me at all! The children got creating and it was wonderful to see  children speaking to new friends and working together as teams to create something they were so proud of. I think you can agree they’ve done a sterling job and made 2 incredible bug hotels which will remain at Yeatheridge for years to come. There so good, we wouldn’t mind a couple more 🙂

This was a completely free activity for everyone that joined in and just goes to show you that children can have so much fun in nature which we have plenty of here at Yeatheridge. My Summer holiday activities are nearly finalised and will be released shortly- watch for the announcements on social media and the App.

Best Wishes

Colette
